My obsession with music started after attending my first ever concert which was The Spice Girls, when I was only 8 or 9 years old. From then I was hooked on the buzz and excitement that comes with live music and despite my taste in music changing slightly (I now prefer the likes of The Blackout to The Backstreet Boys!), my love has never faltered.
After graduating from Leeds University with a degree in Human Physiology, I thought my future was set. I had planned to carry on and study postgraduate medicine but Leeds Student Radio soon put an end to that! I was given my own specialist music show on LSRfm and enjoyed it so much, I decided to pursue a career in radio broadcasting instead.
Since then I have been lucky enough to have had a work placement at BBC WM, where I experienced what goes on behind the scenes of a local radio station, I am a back-up presenter on the ‘Saturday Night Live’ show which is broadcast throughout Queens Hospital in Burton and I am a freelance music journalist for New Beats Media.
You can now find me presenting ‘The Rockbox’ on Stafford FM, every Monday night at 9pm, where I will be bringing you an hour of the best new music from the pop-punk and post-hardcore genres. I have a real interest in local, unsigned artists and will be using the show to expose and promote some of the best artists from Stafford and the surrounding areas.
